Volunteering

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Support Dogs, Inc.  Our volunteers come from a diversity of backgrounds, yet all share a passion and dedication to our mission of providing highly skilled service dogs to individuals with disabilities and uniquely trained therapy teams to the community, offering dignity, hope and independence to those we serve.  We are humbled by your enthusiasm to join this team.

We hope that you will enjoy the camaraderie, support and friendships that develop from working with this elite team of volunteers.  There are few organizations where the volunteers are able to work so directly with the people we serve.  Our Volunteer Puppy Raisers meet the clients with whom the Assistance Dogs are placed.  Assistance Dogs are bred, raised and trained to become a full time companion to our clients.

Our TOUCH Teams are comprised of volunteers, both human and canine who work in hospitals, elder care facilities, schools and libraries where they work directly with our clients that benefit from their therapy visits.  With a ratio of 13 paid staff members to over 500 volunteer staff members, you can readily begin to appreciate that Support Dogs, Inc is totally dependent on our skilled and dedicated volunteers.

To learn more about these, and other volunteer opportunities, click below and complete an application.  Once your application is received, you will be contacted by a member of our staff to discuss what your next steps will be.  We look forward to meeting you!
